Located on Toronto’s waterfront at the southeast corner of Bathurst & Queen’s Quay West, the Ireland Park project was established as a tribute to celebrate the shared heritage between Canada & Ireland. The park is a stone’s throw from the location where the Irish famine immigrants first landed on Canadian shores in 1847.
Ireland park is an emotive, rocky environment evocative of the character of the landscape left behind. The dominant feature of the park is a 16 feet high by 70 feet long ‘Memory Wall’ with a specifically commissioned series of sculptures by the same artist currently located on Dublin’s Custom Quay. In addition, Ireland Park features a specially designed ‘technology tower’ to pay tribute to Ireland’s economic success today.
