MAINSTAY HOUSING, 777 DANFORTH AVE.

Initiated by The Supportive Housing Coalition and Toronto East General Hospital, the project comprises a 29 unit housing complex for mental health homeless and involves the conversion and renovation of an existing two-storey commercial building. Working within a modest budget minor changes were incorporated to the south elevation in order to soften the existing appearance of the commercial facade. A wood trellis with creeping vines are proposed along with various additional plantings. The remainder of the existing building is to be minimally altered.
