Donna Eng is an associate of Kearns Mancini Architects and has been with the firm for more than twenty years. Donna's projects have ranged from Seniors' housing to government offices, but the majority of her career has been spent on the design and construction of a wide variety of buildings for the Bank of Montreal (BMO). As Architect-in-Charge she has overseen Flagship banks (11), new free-standing branches (23), renovations to existing branches to meet BMO's needs (56), new interior fit-outs (28), and In-Store Kiosks (260). The disparate sites involved, whether old, new, urban, or suburban; and the varied building types, have together presented unique challenges if the branches were to fit into a coherent and modern architectural style. Donna and her team’s expertise have addressed the many challenges faced and as a result Donna has become an expert in design guidelines, technical information, sustainable systems/products, workplace ergonomics, and privacy in corporate and retail workspace. |
Peter has been with Kearns Mancini Architects Inc. (KMA) for more than 20 years. He joined KMA in 1987 after graduating from the University of Toronto advancing to the position of Associate of the firm in 1993. Peter thrives on developing creative and innovative ways to resolve client programming needs and requirements through unique architectural expressions in the form of material selection, spatial design, and building system integration. His disciplined and realistic approach to detailing has enabled him to deliver projects within budgetary and schedule constraints without compromising design intent or the programmatic needs of the end users. Always sensitive to a projects surrounding environment, Peter believes in designs which are responsive to site context and which provide an interesting counterpoint between existing and new in the most complimentary manner. This holistic design approach has produced projects which are distinctive yet respectful to their existing milieu. Several of these projects have also won prestigious design awards. |
